Keep the watch exposed to bright light
The electricity generated by the solar cell of the watch isstored by a rechargeable battery. Leaving or using thewatch where it is not exposed to light causes the batteryto run down. Make sure the watch is exposed to light asmuch as possible.• When you are not wearing the watch on your wrist,position the face so it is pointed at a source of brightlight.• You should try to keep the watch outside of your sleeveas much as possible. Charging is reduced significantly ifthe face is covered only partially.

CASIO QW-1700 Tough Solar Watch
Product Information
The QW-1700 is a multi-function digital watch that offers various modes and
features, including Timekeeping Mode, Alarm Mode, Stopwatch Mode, Countdown
Alarm Mode, and Hand Setting Mode. It features a digital display with hour,
minutes, day of the week, date, and seconds indicators. The watch also has a
12/24-hour format setting and a backlight for visibility in low-light
conditions.
Timekeeping Mode
In the Timekeeping Mode, you can set the digital time and date.
To do this:
- Hold down the A button until the seconds digits flash on the display.
- Press the C button to change the selection (seconds, date, hour, month, minutes, year).
- While the seconds digits are flashing, press the D button to reset the seconds to 00.
- For other digits (beside seconds), press D to increase the number or B to decrease it.
- To toggle between 12-hour and 24-hour format, press D while the format setting is selected.
- Press A to return to the Timekeeping Mode.
Alarm Mode
In the Alarm Mode, you can set up to three alarms. To set the alarm time:
- Press D to select Alarm 1 through Alarm 3.
- Hold down the A button until the hour digits start to flash.
- Press D or B to adjust the hour and minutes digits.
- After setting the alarm time, press A to return to the Alarm Mode.
You can also switch the hourly time signal on and off in the Alarm Mode.
Stopwatch Mode
The Stopwatch Mode allows you to measure elapsed time, split times, and two
finishes. The stopwatch has a range of 59 minutes and 59.99 seconds.
- To start the stopwatch, press the Start button.
- To stop the stopwatch, press the Stop button.
- To record a split time, press the Split button.
- To clear the stopwatch, press the Clear button.
Product Usage Instructions
- To set the time and date, enter the Timekeeping Mode by pressing the corresponding button.
- Follow the steps outlined in the Timekeeping Mode section to adjust the digital time and date.
- To set an alarm, enter the Alarm Mode by pressing the corresponding button.
- Follow the steps outlined in the Alarm Mode section to set the desired alarm time and configure the hourly time signal.
- To use the stopwatch, enter the Stopwatch Mode by pressing the corresponding button.
- Use the Start, Stop, Split, and Clear buttons to measure elapsed time, record split times, and clear the stopwatch.

- Press C to change from mode to mode. After you perform an operation in any mode, pressing C returns to the Timekeeping Mode.
- In any mode (except when making settings) press B to illuminate the digital display for about two seconds.
TIMEKEEPING MODE
- Press D to change the display format in the Timekeeping Mode as shown below. PM indicator
To set the digital time and date

Hold down A while in the Timekeeping Mode until the seconds digits flash on the display because they are selected.

Press C to change the selection in the following sequence.

While the seconds digits are selected (flashing), press D to reset the seconds to 00. If you press D while the seconds count is in the range of 30 to 59, the seconds are reset to 00 and 1 is added to the minutes. If the seconds count is in the range of 00 to 29, the minutes count is unchanged.

While any other digits (beside seconds) are selected (flashing), press D to increase the number or B to decrease it. While the 12/24-hour format setting is selected, press D to toggle it between 12 and 24.

Except for when adjusting the seconds or setting the 12/24-hour format, holding down a button changes the current selection at high speed.

When the 12-hour format is selected, the indicator P appears on the display to indicate “P.M.” times. There is no indicator for “A.M.” times.

After you set the time and date, press A to return to the Timekeeping Mode.

The day of the week is automatically set in accordance with the date. · The date can be set within the range of January 1, 1995 to December 31, 2039. · If you do not operate any button for a few minutes while a selection is flashing, the flashing stops and the watch goes back to the Timekeeping Mode automatically.
About the Backlight In any mode (except when making settings) press B to
illuminate the digital display for about two seconds. -
The backlight automatically turns off whenever an alarm sounds. · The backlight of the watch employs an electro-luminescent (EL) panel, which loses illuminating power after very long use.

The illumination provided by the backlight may be hard to see when viewed under direct sunlight.

The watch will emit an audible sound whenever the display is illuminated. This is caused by a transistor that vibrates when the EL panel lights up. It does not indicate malfunction of the watch.
ALARM MODE
Three independent daily alarms can be set. Each alarm lets you set the hour
and minutes. When the Daily Alarm is on, the alarm sounds for 20 seconds at
the preset time each day. Press any button to stop the alarm after it starts
to sound. When the Hourly Time Signal is on, the watch beeps every hour on the
hour.
- If you do not operate any button for a few minutes while in the Alarm Mode, the watch goes back to the Timekeeping Mode automatically.
To set the alarm time
- Press D while in the Alarm Mode to select Alarm 1 through Alarm 3.
- Hold down A until the hour digits start to flash on the display. The hour digits flash because they are selected.
- This operation will switch the Daily Alarm on automatically.
- Press C to change the selection in the following sequence.
- While the hour or minutes digits are selected (flashing) press D to increase the number or B to decrease it. Holding down either button changes the current selection at high speed.
- While the On/Off setting is selected, press D to switch the alarm on ( indicator appears) and off (no indicator).
- The format (12-hour and 24-hour) of the alarm time matches the format you select for normal timekeeping.
- When setting the alarm time using the 12-hour format, take care to set the time correctly as morning (no indicator) or afternoon (P).
- After you set the alarm time, press A to return to the Alarm Mode.
- The alarm on indicator ( ) is shown on the display in all modes when any alarm is on.
- If you do not operate any button for a few minutes while a selection is flashing, the flashing stops and the watch goes back to the Alarm Mode automatically.
To switch the hourly time signal on and off
- In the Alarm Mode, press D to select the Hourly Time Signal.
- Hold down A until the 00 digits start to flash on the display.
- This operation will switch the Hourly Time Signal on automatically.
- Press D to switch the Hourly Time Signal on ( indicator appears) and off (no indicator).
- Press A to return to the Alarm Mode.
- The Hourly Signal on indicator ( ) is shown on the display in all modes when the Hourly Time Signal is on.
To change the alarm sound
You can select from among four different alarm sounds. The alarm sound you
select is used for the Daily Alarms, Hourly Time Signal and Countdown Alarm.
Hold down D while in the Alarm Mode to change the alarm sound.
- Note that pressing D also change the alarm number.
To test the alarm sound
Hold down D while in the Timekeeping Mode to sound the alarm.
- Note that pressing D also change the display format.
STOPWATCH MODE
The stopwatch Mode lets you measure elapsed time, split times, and two
finishes. The range of the stopwatch is 59 minutes, 59.99 seconds.

COUNTDOWN ALARM MODE
The countdown timer can be set within a range of 1 second to 60 minutes. When
the countdown reaches zero, an alarm sounds for 10 seconds or until you press
any button.
- If you do not operate any button for a few minutes while in the Countdown Alarm Mode, the watch goes back to the Timekeeping Mode automatically, unless a count-down operation is in progress.
To set the countdown start time
- Hold down A while in the Countdown Alarm Mode. The minutes digits flash on the display because they are selected.
- Press C to change the selection in the following sequence.
- Press D to increase the selected number or B to decrease it. Holding down either button changes the selection at high speed.
- To set the starting value of the countdown time to 60 minutes, set 00′ 00″.
- After you set the countdown start time, press A to return to the Countdown Alarm Mode.
- If you do not operate any button for a few minutes while a selection is flashing, the flashing stops and the watch goes back to the Countdown Alarm Mode automatically.
To use the countdown timer
- Press D while in the Countdown Alarm Mode to start the countdown timer.
- Press D again to stop the countdown timer.
- You can resume countdown timer operation by pressing D.
- Stop the timer and then press A to reset the countdown time to its starting value.
HAND SETTING MODE
When the time shown on the display does not match the analog setting, use this
mode to correct the analog setting.
- If you do not operate any button for a few minutes while in the Hand Setting Mode, the watch goes back to the Timekeeping Mode automatically.
To set the analog time

Hold down A while in the Hand Setting Mode until the digital time (hour and minutes) starts to flash on the display.
- The following step changes the hands of the analog timepiece without changing the flashing digital time.

Press D to advance the hand setting of the analog timepiece.
Holding down D changes the hand setting at high speed. -
After you set the analog time, press A to return to the Hand Setting Mode.
- If you do not operate any button for a few minutes while a selection is flashing, the flashing stops and the watch goes back to the Hand Setting Mode automatically.

Как настроить время на часах?
Обычно время на часах со стрелками настраивается при помощи заводной головки. Модель G-Shock GWG-1000-1A3 не стала исключением. Однако есть нюанс: ввиду повышенной водозащиты головка наделена блокировкой. Чтобы её снять, необходимо повернуть заводную головку по направлению к себе. Второй нюанс облегчает операции со стрелками – в часах предусмотрен режим их ускоренного перемещения. Чтобы активировать систему, понадобится вытянуть заводную головку и трижды повернуть к себе (стрелки корректируются слева направо) или от себя (справа налево). В случае, когда часы находятся в режиме, для которого не предусмотрены действия с заводной головкой, на цифровом экране возникнет сообщение «Push», обозначающее, что необходимо совершить ряд других действий.
Нажатие на верхнюю кнопку на правой стороне корпуса автоматически передвинет стрелки в положение, где они не заслоняют показания остальных датчиков. По бокам от цифры «12» располагаются литеры «А» и «Р» – с помощью секундной стрелки они помогают определиться с тем, какой сейчас проходит отрезок времени: до или после полудня. Возле цифры «3» расположен ещё один ряд дополнительных данных. Знаки «+» и «–», а также цифры на тонком «шлейфе» внутреннего кольцевого выступа, помогают считать данные барометра либо альтиметра при включении соответствующего режима. Перепад высот будет отображаться с помощью секундной стрелки (изменения относительно текущих значений).
Как настроить наручные часы?
Регулировка часов подразумевает не только коррекцию времени и даты, но и отслеживание заряда аккумулятора. Данная модель работает от батарейки, соединённой со светочувствительной панелью (технология Tough Solar). Чтобы проверить уровень заряда, необходимо нажать нижнюю кнопку с левой боковины корпуса и удерживать её в течение нескольких секунд. На экране отобразится индикатор TIME и слева от него индикатор уровня заряда. Важно понимать, что часы принимают сигнал радиокалибровки времени и обновляют его в соответствии с сигналом, поступающим от 6 мировых вышек.
На внутреннем скошенном фланце размещены сокращенные названия 29 мировых столиц. Каждая из коррекционных кнопок подписана в соответствии с тем или иным датчиком: так, справа верхний пушер отвечает за компас, нижний – за показания альтиметра. Нижняя кнопка слева отвечает за переключение между режимами: нажимая на неё нужное количество раз можно переключиться на нужную в данный момент функцию. Наконец, самая нижняя кнопка (под корпусным кольцом в положении «6 часов») активирует подсветку циферблата.

Чтобы перейти в режим компаса, необходимо нажать правую верхнюю кнопку. Расположите часы горизонтально и следите за секундной стрелкой: она будет указывать на север, куда бы вы не повернули часы. В это же время на электронном дисплее будет отображаться азимут. Погрешность измерений составляет +/- 11 градусов относительно горизонта.
Альтиметр
Чтобы перейти в режим альтиметра, необходимо нажать правую нижнюю кнопку. Альтиметр позволяет измерить высоту относительно любой точки, взятой за базовую. Диапазон измерений – от -700 до 10 000 метров. Чтобы начать вычисления, нужно настроить интервал получения данных. Этот этап манипулируется манипуляцией заводной головкой. Высота и интервал отображаются на цифровом дисплее. В режиме альтиметра в памяти часов можно сохранить данные о текущей высоте, а также дату и время – это делается вручную. Таким образом можно зафиксировать до 30 записей. Если в режиме альтиметра один нажать на верхнюю левую кнопку, секундная стрелка покажет значение перепада высоты.
Барометр
Чтобы перейти в режим барометра, необходимо нажать левую нижнюю кнопку. Цифровой дисплей отображает текущие данные в гектопаскалях (по желанию можно переключить на дюймы). (1000 гПа = 750 миллиметров ртутного столба). В левом углу дисплея появится график, отображающий текущее значение атмосферного давления (в течение суток обновляется каждые два часа).
Термометр
Чтобы перейти в режим барометра, необходимо нажать левую нижнюю кнопку и увидеть в окошке дисплея сокращение TEMP. Она будет отображаться в градусах цельсия (вручную можно переключить на фаренгейты). Шаг измерения – 0,1 градуса.
Нажатие на кнопку MODE
- Помогает попасть в записную книжку альтиметра либо переключиться на режим секундомера. Чтобы его включить, необходимо нажать на правую нижнюю копку один раз.
- Активирует таймер обратного отсчёта. Он рассчитан на 60 минут.
- Активирует будильник. Их 5: с разными режимами и звуковыми сигналами. Переключаться между ними помогает правая нижняя кнопка.
- Активирует мировое время. Переключаться между 29 городами можно с помощью умной заводной головки. Секундная стрелка двигается вращением заводной головки. Когда она указывает на определенный город, часовая и минутная стрелки подстраиваются под нужный часовой пояс.
- Активирует режим R/C: на цифровом дисплее начинает отображаться год, дата и время, когда был принят последний радиосигнал. Сигналы принимаются от 6 ключевых вышек. Они располагаются: по одной – в Великобритании, Германии, США, Китае и две в Японии.
