Protection of the environment

General notes

Environmental note

H

Daimler’s declared policy is one of integrated
environmental protection.

The objectives are for the natural resources
that form the basis of our existence on this
planet to be used sparingly and in a manner
that takes the requirements of both nature
and humanity into account.

You too can help to protect the environment
by operating your vehicle in an
environmentally responsible manner.

Fuel consumption and the rate of engine,
transmission, brake and tire wear depend on
the following factors:

R

operating conditions of your vehicle

R

your personal driving style

You can influence both factors. You should
bear the following in mind:

Operating conditions:

R

avoid short trips as these increase fuel
consumption.

R

always make sure that the tire pressures
are correct.

R

do not carry any unnecessary weight.

R

keep an eye on the vehicle’s fuel
consumption.

R

remove

roof racks once you no longer need

them.

R

a regularly serviced vehicle will contribute
to environmental protection. You should
therefore adhere to the service intervals.

R

always have service work carried out at a
qualified specialist workshop.

Personal driving style:

R

do not depress the accelerator pedal when
starting the engine.

R

do not warm up the engine when the vehicle
is stationary.

R

drive carefully and maintain a safe distance
from the vehicle in front.

R

avoid frequent, sudden acceleration.

R

change gear in good time and use each gear
only up to Ô of its maximum engine speed.

R

switch off the engine in stationary traffic.

Mercedes-Benz G-Class – “charged” version of the all-wheel drive SUV class “K2”. The premiere of the charged version of the model took place at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2012.

The “charged” versions of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class from AMG received all the same design innovations as the usual restyled versions of the G350 with the G500, but with some additions – slightly different bumpers, a different false radiator grille, a stylized instrument panel and a certain number of AMG nameplates.

Of course, the Mercedes-Benz engineers did not stand aside from the G-Class update. Despite the fact that numerous active and passive safety systems developed by German specialists are considered among the most advanced in the world, work on them never stops. The updated Gelendvagen has become another platform for demonstrating the technological superiority of Mercedes-Benz over its competitors, but more importantly, lane keeping and blind spot monitoring systems are now included in the basic package, whereas earlier they could only be installed for an extra charge.

The main differences between the G-Class AMG and the usual versions of the SUV are hidden under the massive bonnet. The G 63 AMG, which replaced the G 55 AMG, is equipped with a 5.5-liter V8 with two turbochargers. Such a unit produces 544 hp. With. of power and 760 Nm of torque, that is, 37 “forces” more than the previous generation engine, which allows the SUV to accelerate to 100 km / h in 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 210 km / h (electronically limited). The G 63 AMG engine boasts even more dizzying performance – 6 liters, V12, 612 hp. With. and 1000 Nm of thrust! It accelerates the 2.5-ton “Cube” to 100 km / h in 5.3 seconds with a maximum of 230 km / h. True, you will have to pay for this with 14 and 17 liters of gasoline, respectively. And in relation to the environment, the G-Class cannot be called particularly friendly. Depending on the modification, it emits from 295 to 397 g/km CO2 into the atmosphere. The gearbox, like in conventional versions, is a 7-speed “automatic” 7G-Tronic Plus.
